A Hein Kyaw was born in Sittwe, Rakhine State, but moved to Yangon in 1988. In 1995 he began to study under his only teacher, the artist Saya Moe Yin. A Hein Kyaw became a member of Borderline Gallery in 2006.
He has been an artist his whole life. Painting is both his favorite hobby as well the only career he has ever had.
In 2007 he joined Arakan Human Rights and Development Organization as an illustrator for the group’s publications. He now considers the organization his family and main support network in Mae Sot.
He is interested in all types of painting: portraits, landscapes, abstracts. His favorite medium is oil.
