Htut Aung was born in Rangoon in 1957, and studied under U Thu Kha, U Lun Kywe and U Mya Aye at Rangoon’s University of Fine Art. Upon graduating in 1978, he studied with the film-poster master Ko Maung Maung for three years, beginning an 8-year career in magazine illustration and design in 1980.
After ten years working as art director of Ve Ve Co., Ltd, he returned to fine art in 2000, with his Summer Glory exhibition at Summit Parkview Hotel in Rangoon. He has participated in several group shows, and had his first exhibition at Borderline in 2006.
